Makeup Examination (Application Procedure)

◆ Makeup Examination
It is possible to take a makeup examination when it is not possible to take an examination of a Liberal Arts Education subject by sickness or other unavoidable circumstances.
A student who wishes to take a makeup examination must submit the prescribed makeup examination application form and a document that objectively proves the reason for missing the examination (Medical certificate, etc.※). Please submit them to the the Student Support Office in the department you belong to (for the first grade students of Faculty of Law Day Course, Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical science, please go to the Education Promotion Group Office (the 1st floor, Building M, School of Integrated Arts and Sciences) or Kasumi Student Support Office) within one week after the examination you missed. For more details, please refer to the "Article 8 of the Hiroshima University Liberal Arts Education Course Completion Regulations" described in the student handbook.
※In the case of COVID-19, an image of a positive test result on a self-testing kit (one that shows the date of the test) is also acceptable.
Examples:
・Take a picture of a positive test result on a self-testing kit with your smartphone and print out the picture with the date and time of the picture which are recorded on your smartphone.
・Take a picture of a positive test result with a newspaper issued on the date of the test, showing the issue date printed on the newspaper.
◆ Notes on Makeup Examination
１．Please download the makeup examination application form from the link above or receive the form from a Student Support Office or from the Education Promotion Group Office (the 1st floor, Building M, School of Integrated Arts and Sciences).
２．The document that proves the valid reason for missing an examination is required for the application for a makeup examination. Please receive a medical certificate or an equivalent document from a hospital when you cannot take an examination due to a cold, sickness, or other medical conditions.
３．After an application, all information on the makeup examination is communicated on the Message on My Momiji. Please check My Momiji on a regular basis.
【Hiroshima University Liberal Arts Education Course Completion Regulations Article 8】
（Makeup Examination）
A person who was unable to take an examination due to one of the following items may take a makeup examination.
[1] Absence due to the death of a spouse(including the partner certified by a document certified the partnership in the Policies and Guidelines at Hiroshima University for Respecting Gender and Sexual Diversity -To Be Inclusive of LGBT+ Students, Faculty and Staff-(2022.12.27 Board Approval)) or a person within the third-degree kinship
[2] Injury or illness (restricted to instances of hospitalization or equivalent circumstances)
[3] Natural disaster or other extraordinary disaster
[4] Sudden accident of public transportation
[5] Other unavoidable circumstances
(2) In princilple, a student who wishes to take a makeup examination must submit submit a designated application to the dean of the school to which he/she belongs within one week of the original examination date of the relevant class subject.
(3) In principle, a student who has been authorized to take a makeup examination must take a makeup examination on the date and at the time designated by the instructor in charge of the relevant class subject.
(4) A makeup examination shall be couducted within three weeks after the orginal examination date of the relevant class subject.
