Credit Approval for foreign language proficiency tests, etc.(For Students adimitted before AY2022 after AY2017)

As per Articles 30-1 of the Hiroshima University General Provisons (hereinafter, "General Provisions"), and as elsewhere stipulated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, students who have obtained thespecofoed scores or grades on foreign language proficiency testts,such as the Practical English Proficiency Test (EIKEN), IELTS, TOEFL® and TOEIC® will be awarded credits, as outlined below.

(1) Applicable foreign language proficiency tests
 1) Practical English Proficiency Test (EIKEN)

 2) TOEFL® Test

 3) TOEIC® public test, or TOEIC® IP test recognized by the Institute for Foreign Language Research and Education of Hiroshima University

(3) Methods and scope of application for credit approval
 1)A student who acquired a prescribed grade or score after admission and who wishes to receive credit approval as per the provisions stipulated in Article 30-1 of the General Provisions must submit an Application for Credit Approval for Foreign Language Proficiensy Tests, etc. to the school to which he/she blongs within two weeks after the start of each semester the each course registration period(*), along with an original copy of the certificate or score report, as a rule. (*)Application period changed from September 1, 2023.

 2)Applications will be accepted only for subjects for which credits have not been granted at the time of application.

 3)Upon Approval, the predetermined number of credits will be granted, but no grades will be assigned.

 4)The number of approved credits for each subject is 1(one).

 5)If you apply for approval of credits for a subject for which you are currently registered, you must make a change to the registered content for that subject by selecting either "Credits not required" or "Cancellation of registration."

(4) Application
 1)These handling rules shall be applied to students admitted in or after from FY2017.

 2)Provisions then in force regarding the handling of credit approval for foreign language proficiency tests, etc. for students admitted prior to AY2016 shall remain applicable, notwithstanding the stipulations herein
