Garbage must be separated correctly depending on the designated category.
Complying with the rules of garbage disposal is an especially important part of living in Japan.
Disposal procedures differ by city. Please confirm in advance and follow their rules.

Household Waste

- Buy the garbage bag designated by Higashi-Hiroshima City.
- Separate garbage correctly depending on the category.
- Put the separated garbage into the designated bag.
- Bring the garbage to the pickup site on the designated collection day.

Large waste
The city hall collects large waste once or twice a year. The collection day and place differ
depending on where you live.
Caution! Air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators/freezers, washing machines/laundry dryers
and PCs cannot be collected by the city.

In accordance with the home appliances recycling law, these items should be disposed of
by electronics appliance stores. A recycling charge is always required for the disposal.
