Expected Outcome1. To be able to think about peace from multiple perspectives and express their own opinions.
2. To understand and be able to explain various factors that prevent peace and the complex aspects involved, including conflicts between ideology and reality.

How has disarmament, including nuclear disarmament---which has been positioned as one of Japan's most important foreign and security policies---progressed, been discussed, and what difficulties have been faced? This course examines disarmament and peace/security from various perspectives, such as the "ideal" and "reality," and power, interests and values (norms) that have shaped the international relations.

Following news and trends in disarmament, non-proliferation, nuclear issues, peace, security, and the international relations surrounding these issues through news, magazines, journals, books and so on. 
Requirements  
Grading Method Students will be comprehensively evaluated based on the comments sheets (reaction papers) submitted at each lesson (30%), a report entitled "My Approach to Peace" (30%), and a final report (40%).
No credit will be given to students who do not submit the "My Approach to Peace."

Other You are required to submit a report entitled "My Approach to Peace" as a common assignment for Peace Science Courses. When you fail to submit the report, the credits will not be awarded.
