Have you ever heard of the automated bus "HIROMOBI" that runs on the Hiroshima University campus? It's a bus that runs without a driver! Isn't it amazing? But at the same time, some of you may be wondering if it's safe. What kind of technology and what kind of life do you want to lead? This is an issue that concerns people all over the world. Let's think about it together, sharing various ideas. (The class will be conducted in Japanese and simple English.) 
Expected Outcome- Participants will get various ways of thinking the peace by virtually visiting some peace and war museums over the world.
- Participants will improve communication capacity by joining English classes about new technology (autonomous vehicle) and ethics.
- Participants will develop their capacity of global technological citizenship from the above activities.

Within the context of an advanced technology development (i.e. autonomous vehicle), students will learn the concept of global partnership and improve their skill of communication and dialogue as well as their level of citizenship.

lesson2  Riding the HIROMOBI shuttle and pre-test on technological citizenship
lesson3  Virtual site tour to some world peace and war museums (Lecture, Observation)
lesson4  Virtual site tour to some world peace and war museums (Reflection, Report)
lesson5  Ethics on autonomous vehicle technology (Viewpoints from developer and user)
lesson6  Current development of autonomous vehicle technology (Merits and demerits, Institutions and laws)
lesson7  Group discussion I: These and anti-these of autonomous vehicle focusing on safe and security
lesson8  Group discussion I: Synthese of autonomous vehicle focusing on safe and security, and reflection with video
lesson9  Group discussion II: These and anti-these of autonomous vehicle focusing on social participation and opportunity

Requirements  
Grading Method On-site visit report or virtual site tour report on peace (50%), Presentation group discussions (50%)
In the absent of submitting the first on-site visit report or virtual site tour report, you cannot get this credit.

Other You are required to submit a report entitled "My Approach to Peace" as a common assignment for Peace Science Courses. When you fail to submit the report, the credits will not be awarded.
【Period of the report submission】
The 1st term course--> from April 30th to May 13th
The 2nd term course--> from July 1st to July 8th
The 3rd term course--> from October 28th to November 7th
Night program course--> Follow teachers’ instructions
