Expected Outcome1. To be able to think about peace from multiple perspectives and express their own opinions.
2. To understand and be able to explain various factors that prevent peace and the complex aspects involved, including conflicts between ideology and reality. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Rooted in the atomic-bombed city of Hiroshima, Hiroshima University has made the "pursuit of peace" the first of its five guiding principles. Why does Hiroshima University attribute such importance to "peace" and strive for its realization? To answer this question, it is important to understand the historical role of "Hiroshima" and its meaning. Through learning about the damage caused by the atomic bombing and nuclear weapons tests, environmental problems, and the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, the course aims to encourage students to think about the meaning of "peace" and "Hiroshima".

Through our lectures centered on the consequences of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombing, Semipalatinsk nuclear weapons tests and Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear powerplant disasters, we expect students to think about the meaning of "peace".  
Requirements  
Grading Method Assessment is based on: "My Approach to Peace" report (40%), final report (40%), discussions and class participation (comment sheets) (20%). Students who fail to submit the report on "My Approach to Peace" will not be awarded credits.

Other You are required to submit a report entitled "My Approach to Peace" as a common assignment for Peace Science Courses. When you fail to submit the report, the credits will not be awarded.
【Period of the report submission】
The 1st term course--> from April 30th to May 13th
The 2nd term course--> from July 1st to July 8th
The 3rd term course--> from October 28th to November 7th
