Class Objectives
/Class Outline The essence of the environment and major elements of the environment such as ecosystem, economy, social system, technology and human behavior are focused on in order to be able to create a sustainable society.  Based on the knowledge acquired, discussion deepens the academic foundation with critical thinking.

Lesson 2: Structure and System Composition of the Environment
Lesson 3: Environmental Impacts from Human Activities
Lesson 4: Elements of the Environment – The state of the Geosphere
Lesson 5: Elements of the Environment – Ecosystem Conservation
Lesson 6: Elements of the Environment – The Role of Technology
Lesson 7: Elements of the Environment – Economy, Social Systems, and Human Behavior
Lesson 8: Final Examination

Several reports are assigned.

Requirements Basic knowledge on environment in the undergraduate level is required. Active discussion in class is expected.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it On the basis of a variety of experience in Japanese government as well as foreign countries, the essence of environment is discussed in class.
