In this class, fundamental knowledge on the utilization of botanical resources is introduced, with a particular focus on the use of crops as well as invasive plants for the biological control of weeds and pests. In addition, the extraction, isolation, and identification of bioactive compounds from these plants, and their applications for medicinal and pharmaceutical purposes such as anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, and skin protection, are explained and discussed
