lesson1 Guidance, Profit Maximization, and Utility Maximization: An overview of the lecture content. We will study markets (price mechanisms, supply and demand, firms and households), equilibrium in goods, labor, land, and transportation, and surplus. lesson2 Land Market: We will study the role of transportation infrastructure through comparative static analysis, focusing on both urban centers and suburban areas. Furthermore, we will examine land demand (by households and firms) and landowners' supply behavior. lesson3 Transportation Market: We will study the relationship between transportation markets and congestion, the role of congestion pricing, and the concepts of user equilibrium and social equilibrium for both general roads and expressways. lesson4 Market Failure: We will study the voluntary provision of public goods arising from market failure and the role of government. Furthermore, we will also study social common capital, which has recently regained attention. lesson5 Information asymmetry: We will learn about moral hazard, adverse selection, and advantageous selection arising from information asymmetry, along with the role of insurance as a countermeasure. lesson6 Government Activities: Through case studies, we will examine trade models, tax policy, spillovers, vertical tax externalities, and benefits/social welfare. lesson7 The Latest in Microeconomics: This overview covers the latest trends in microeconomics, incorporating insights from psychology and other fields such as non-economic incentives, attachment, behavioral change, and behavioral economics. lesson8 Transportation and Urban Issues and Their Solutions: Through workshops, we will identify familiar transportation and urban issues, compile solutions for them, and present our findings. lesson9 lesson10 lesson11 lesson12 lesson13 lesson14 lesson15
We will compile a report on the outcomes of the workshop conducted in the 8th session, and simultaneously assign a report on the theories and techniques deemed necessary for identifying transportation and urban issues and planning and implementing solutions. |
