In this course, students will learn about current research trends and research methodologies in the fields of sociolinguistics and Japanese language education through the reading and presentation of academic literature on selected topics. Through these learning activities, the course also aims to develop students’ critical thinking, as well as their skills in oral presentation techniques, presentation delivery, and spoken academic communication. |

This course involves academic reading and oral presentations. Through presentations and discussions, students are expected to deepen their knowledge and understanding of research fields and themes. Students are encouraged to actively use materials available in the university library and other academic resources, including online databases. Before each class, students should prepare not only for their own presentations and readings but also review relevant materials related to other students’ presentations. After each class, students should summarize the comments and insights gained during the lecture, organize the content, reconsider their research plans and methodologies, and reflect on their own ideas. |
