Focusing on the domain of dwelling and residential life, this course aims to understand everyday living as an interaction among the environment, social systems, and everyday choices people make as residents. Students will examine key issues including the dwelling environment, health and safety, resources and energy, maintenance and management, and housing-related institutions and inequalities. Through lectures, discussions, and short assignments, students will develop foundational skills to translate everyday life issues into learning tasks and to design teaching materials for Home Economics in the dwelling domain.
