Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The aim of this course is to develop theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for designing learning materials for primary and secondary education, grounded in curriculum design that responds to school practice. Building on theoretical and practice based research on learning materials in school education, the course explores key issues and debates through lectures and seminars. In Class A (Yuka Nakai), we focus in particular on the conditions that enable learners to exercise creativity. Through an iterative cycle between theory and practice, students will design learning materials by starting from their own area of interest, clarifying how creativity is conceptualised in that area, generating and prototyping ideas, and improving them through presentations and peer critique. Short in class activities will be used to experience learning conditions directly and to refine prototypes step by step. |
