This course examines the ethical, legal, and social issues raised by life sciences (advanced science and technology) from multiple perspectives and explores their moral implications in depth.

Topics include: organ fabrication using animals, organoid technology, reproductive technologies, genome editing.

The goal is not merely to identify problems, but for students to develop their own well-considered positions. Students are expected to critically reflect on their own standpoint and methodology when addressing these issues.

Materials used in class will be shared via Slack. Students are expected to check all announcements carefully. 
Requirements Attendance at 10 or more classes is required to earn credit.
・Students arriving more than 20 minutes late will be marked absent (though participation is allowed).
・Leaving class early without valid reason will also be treated as absence. 
Grading Method Presentation: 80%
Students will present and report on multiple recent academic articles. Evaluation will be based on content and contribution to discussion.

Pre-class Assignments: 20%
Submission status and quality will be evaluated.
