Class Objectives /Class Outline |
This course provides lectures and practical training on the fundamentals of geomorphological and geological investigations of active faults on land. Based on specific case studies, it outlines the principles of geomorphological and geological surveys and their development, and fosters an understanding of ethical considerations and legal regulations in field investigations. Through on-site topographic measurements and stratigraphic observations, students learn the significance and methods of recording, as well as techniques for extracting and interpreting information on the characteristics of active faults from geomorphological and geological data. Through these activities, the course aims to cultivate a foundation for examining the development of landforms and geological features not only on land but also on the seafloor, from the perspectives of both endogenic and exogenic processes. |
