Class Status within Liberal Arts Education | Learn the fundamentals of physics. |
|---|
| Expected Outcome | You will be able to solve basic physics problems. You will acquire physics-based thinking, that is, to understand things by breaking them down into their fundamental components. |
Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The course will cover the basics of mechanics, waves, and thermodynamics, which are the fundamentals of physics. To avoid complicated equations, priority is given to learning the concepts by demonstrating actual phenomena so that they will be useful in their own (non-physical) fields in the future. |
| Class Schedule |

Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
Please review the relevant chapter in the textbook beforehand. You don't necessarily need to understand everything at this stage, but simply recognizing what the content covers and where the difficult points lie should significantly improve your comprehension during the lecture. I will assign some exercises and mini-reports in each class, because the understanding of physics can be deepened through actually solving problems. |
