Geological information such as rocks, minerals, and fossils is fundamental information closely related not only to earth science but also to regional geography and history. In this class, students will conduct observations of geological outcrops during a four-day field excursion (three nights and four days) and prepare a report, with the aim of understanding the diversity of geological information.
Class Schedule lesson1 Geology of the Field Excursion Area
lesson2-8 Field Excursion: Observation of Geological Outcrops

No final exam. A final repot must be submitted.

Students will accompany the “Earth Science Field Excursion A” field excursion, which is offered by the Department of Earth and Planetary Systems Science at the Faculty of Science. The exact details of the excursion will be finalised when the course is offered, but it is currently planned that the geology of northern Kyushu will be observed in late September, during the summer vacation period.
