Students will learn the historical and philosophical foundations of science and technology while developing critical thinking skills. The course is mainly lecture-based, with discussions reflecting students’ views. Short reports are assigned at the end of each class.

We will discuss modern ethics for citizens and professionals as well as gain an understanding on the background of appropriate and new ethical practices necessary in the future scientific and technological era. The objective is for students to learn ethical thinking related to critical thinking as well as science and technology, and to examine science and technology critically.
