Lectures will be shared in English through a teleconference system connecting Hiroshima University, Airlangga University, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMPH), Khon Kaen University, and the University of Sheffield.

Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course consists of remote lectures delivered by researchers from universities in several countries. Through these lectures, students will learn about current research topics in the field and gain exposure to diverse scientific perspectives. Students are expected to actively ask questions and participate in discussions in order to deepen their interest in research.

By listening to lectures in English and engaging in discussion, students will experience how asking questions helps them better understand research topics. The course also aims to foster an international research mindset and encourage future cross-border collaborative research.

The relative weights assigned to each assessment modality are as follows:

1. For Japanese-speaking students:
Translation of abstracts from English into Japanese: 40%
Quizzes: 50%
Comments: 10%
2. For English-speaking students:
Select one keyword and write a  review on the selected keyword: 40%
Quizzes: 50%
Comments: 10%
Note: The relative weights may be adjusted by the lecturer for each class.

Final Grade Calculation
The final grade will be determined based on the overall point average across all lectures, using the following scale:
90 to 100: S (Superior)
80 to 89: A (Excellent)
70 to 79: B (Good)
60 to 69: C (Satisfactory)
Below 60: Fail
