Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course introduces basic ideas and practical skills for designing lessons for diverse children. In today’s classrooms, students have different cultural backgrounds, languages, abilities, interests, and learning styles. Teachers need to create lessons that support all learners.

The objective of this course is to help students understand diversity in schools and learn how to design inclusive and flexible lesson plans. Students will explore simple concepts such as fairness in education, culturally responsive teaching, and adapting lessons for different learning needs.

Through lectures, class discussions, group work, and small projects, students will:

Discuss what diversity means in Japanese schools and global contexts

Examine classroom cases and identify possible challenges

Learn how to modify teaching activities for different learners

Design simple lesson plans for diverse classrooms

By the end of the course, students will be able to create a basic lesson plan that considers different student needs and explain why inclusive curriculum design is important.
