Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course examines the relationship between global issues and education in the contemporary world. Global challenges such as development, human rights, poverty, environmental problems, and migration are closely connected to education. Education can both reproduce social inequality and contribute to social transformation.

Through lectures, discussions, case studies, and student presentations, this course explores how education can contribute to solving global issues. Students will analyze educational policies from comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives.

By taking this course, students will aim to achieve the following:
Be able to theoretically understand and explain the interrelationship between education and the major areas of global issues;
Be able to critically analyze the roles of international organizations and national policies;
Be able to consider issues from a multicultural perspective;
Be able to propose solutions to issues through education.

Review
Preparation and reflection are necessary before and after each lesson. Prepare and reflect beforehand so that you can always approach each lesson with questions in mind. Active participation in class activities and the use of English (Japanese can also be used depending on the situation) are also required.
