Class 2: Greetings and Openings (Formal vs Informal) Class 3: Starting and Ending Conversations (Small Talk and Saying Goodbye) Class 4: Invitations (Making and Responding to Invitations) Class 5: Declining Invitations (Politeness and Softening Strategies) Class 6: Requests and Favors (Making Polite Requests and Asking for Help) Class 7: Reactions (Responding to Good News and Bad News) Class 8: Midterm Test (Weeks 1–4) Class 9: Showing Interest and Engagement in Conversation Class 10: Complaints and Showing Annoyance Class 11: Giving Instructions and Explaining Processes Class 12: Expressing Opinions (Direct vs Indirect Language) Class 13: Disagreeing Politely Class 14: Being Vague and Softening Language Class 15: Final Test (Weeks 5–7)
Midterm and final tests will be conducted in class.
