Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of the junior high school Social Studies curriculum and the high school Geography and History curriculum (history). In the lecture component, the course offers an overview of current trends in historical studies. It also compares the latest high school textbook, Sekaishi Tankyu [Advanced World History], with Sekaishi B [World History B] revised in 1997, with reference to recent academic developments in the field. In the presentation component, participants select one of the assigned readings and form groups to study it collaboratively. Each group then delivers a presentation based on their analysis and group discussions.

Requirements  
Grading Method Participants will be evaluated based on reaction papers submitted at the end of each class session (35%) and a group presentation on the assigned literature (65%).
