This course covers the history of the people living in the Japanese archipelago, from ancient times to modern times. However, this course covers the entire Japanese archipelago, from Sakhalin to Okinawa, and focuses not only on "Japan" or "Japanese people," but also on the origins and diversity of the archipelago's cultures and ethnicities.
