This course aims to help students deepen their understanding of historical grammar of Old Indo-Aryan (Sanskrit), by analyzing the Brahmanical scripture “Veda”, which, along with Homer’s epics, are of highest importance in Indo-European studies.

Participants are required to review the knowledge learned in every class, and be able to make use of handbooks and monographs (written mainly in English, German, French) mentioned in every class. 
Requirements Participants need to have taken the course “Fundamental Seminar in Modern Linguistics” in the summer semester or have basic knowledge of Sanskrit.
