This course aims to help students gain the basics of historical grammar of Old Indo-Aryan, which, along with Greek, occupies a central position in Indo-European studies.

Participants are  required to make use of handbooks and monographs (written mainly in English, German, France)mentioned in each class.
 
Requirements Participants are recommended to learn elementary Sanskrit grammar in advance, and  to take “Seminar in Modern Linguistics” in the winter semester along with this course.
