Students will read academic papers on political and economic history published in Chinese journals, economic articles from newspapers published in modern China, and published Chinese historical materials. This aims to enhance the historical source analysis skills necessary for writing a graduation thesis. |

Class participation will be an important component of assessment. Students will be evaluated not only on their presentations during assigned sessions, but also on their active participation in discussions throughout the course. Intermediate Chinese language proficiency is required. The course plan is subject to change depending on the interests and concerns of the participants. |
