Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Environmental problems, such as sustainable energy systems, climate change, and the social impacts of natural disasters, cannot be solved by any single discipline, and we must have the competence to manage, or even initiate, multidisciplinary problem-solving. Future global leaders should thus be equipped with, or at least understand, a multidisciplinary perspective and innovation skills to address various wicked problems. While "Environmental Economics and Policy II" gives students an opportunity to understand problems in environmental policy and economics through the case method, you will also begin developing skills to create new policy ideas and to engage effectively with stakeholders using qualitative and quantitative systems-thinking tools.
This introductory course helps students develop the skills to think critically and consider the diverse perspectives of individuals and groups regarding their environment.
