Class Objectives /Class Outline |
This course provides a comprehensive overview of technological trends in integrated semiconductor devices, which support modern society, from a wide range of perspectives, including devices, processes, design, simulation and applications. These lectures will be provided by lecturers from various companies that are leading the semiconductor industry. In addition to providing an overview of the basics of technology in each field, students can listen to the lecturers' talks based on their own experiences, such as what is important as industrial technology on the hot trends in the semiconductor industry and what perspectives those who are responsible for technology development should have. In addition, students will learn through practical examples the importance of collaboration between different fields in the development of semiconductor technology, which is a comprehensive technology that spans a wide range of fields. Through this course, students will learn about the various technological elements that support semiconductor devices and the efforts of each company, and will understand the relationship between their own field of expertise and the semiconductor industry, and will develop their ability to develop technology with an eye on the market. Through these lectures, students can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to realize their own career designs and develop the ability to collaborate with others to solve problems. This lecture (Special Lecture I on Integrated Green-niX) and the Special Lecture II on Integrated Green-niX to be held in the 3Q will be offered side by side with a common concept, and will be structured to cover a wide range of content. From the 2025 academic year onwards, this course can be considered as an entrepreneurship course (corresponding GA is GA1M). |

Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class. They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material. |
Requirements |
It is desirable to have taken undergraduate lectures on semiconductor devices and electronic circuits. This course is part of the Integrated Green-niX College program (a joint program with Institute of Science Tokyo, Toyohashi University of Technology, Nagaoka University of Technology and Meiji University, based on a memorandum of understanding for credit transfer related to semiconductor talent development). Please note that you cannot register for this course unless you have completed the special audit student application procedure at your respective university beforehand. |
