Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Schedule : 7/15~17
Objective : In order to design and manufacture metallic materials that satisfy the required properties, it is necessary to control the microstructure in the manufacturing process based on a good understanding of the phase diagram of the target alloy system. The aim of this lecture is to study the microstructural features and phenomena formed in the manufacturing processes of practical structural metal materials (melting, casting, forming and processing, heat treatment, etc.) and to understand the microstructure control methods that utilise them. The characteristics and properties of various practical metal materials such as steel materials, copper and copper alloys, aluminium alloys, etc., and practical considerations are also studied.

Class Schedule lesson1 - 5: Introduction, phase diagram views and concepts
lesson5- 10 : Microstructure formation of metallic materials associated with the manufacturing process
lesson11 - 15 : Practical metallic materials (carbon steel, copper and copper alloys, aluminium alloys)
