Indo-European studies, serving as a model for comparative or historical linguistics, have developed the methodology since the establishment in the 19 century. Understanding the history of research plays a critical role in the proper learning of the methodology.This class primarily focuses on Indo-Iranian studies, aiming to understand the framework of Indo-European studies and to deepen knowledge of Indo-European phonology.

Requirements Graduate student engaged in linguistic studies are eligible for this course. It is ideal that participants have basic knowledge of Sanskrit or Indo-European studies.
