Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Over the course of a year, we will overview the basics of corpus linguistics and aim to acquire the basic techniques used in corpus analysis. Students also aim to explore the potential of its application in their own research theme. The second semester will focus on collocation as the main theme of the class. We will review how it has been discussed in the fields of linguistics, education, literary studies, and extract collocations by actually using various corpus search/analysis tools. Students will make mini-presentations as the summary of the year at the end of the semester. |
