We will read and analyze the works of Japanese female writers popular in English-speaking countries and discuss the changing forms of family and love in contemporary Japanese fiction. Students will learn the methods of textual analysis and improve their communication and presentation skills.

Lesson 1:Check out the class schedule
Lesson 2-3:Read the handouts and start preparing for your presentation.
Lesson 4-14:In order to be able to participate in the Q&A sessions actively, read the assigned texts carefully in advance. Be sure to give yourself enough time to prepare for the presentation.
Lesson 15:Summarize your thoughts.

Grading Method Oral presentation (70%) and attitude toward the class (30%).

Message The language of the class and presentations is Japanese; therefore, excellent Japanese knowledge (N1 or higher) is required.
