The aim of this lecture is to provide students with the latest knowledge in microbiome and metagenomic data analysis from perspectives in drug development and preventive medicine, and enable them to obtain the information related to the research trend. The participants will also learn the newest knowledge that are relevant to the probiotics acting on the intestinal flora as well as the action mechanism of the functional compounds produced by probiotics.  Functional foods have been drawing an attention in recent years as the rise in health awareness. Through this lecture, the participants able to acquire knowledge of food for specified health uses as well as a new system on Foods with Function Claims and, at the same time, we aim to develop their knowledge and skills on food clinical trials.
