Through understanding and practicing diversity in society, the goal is to enhance the skills needed to live and work in society (especially knowledge of finance, career and life planning, and the ability to respond flexibly to change). 
Expected Outcome1) To acquire the financial literacy and life planning skills that are necessary for career development.
2) To acquire the ability to be flexible in responding to rapid changes.
3) To acquire knowledge that is directly applicable to real life. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
In the 100-Year Life Era, having accurate knowledge about money and improving financial literacy are essential for future planning. We are entering an unpredictable age due to rapid technological advancements and changes in the economic environment. In this course, students will understand the role and risks of money and learn tips for living in society, thereby cultivating the ability to make proactive judgments and take action in life planning and career planning. The aim is to acquire knowledge that is directly applicable to real life and to develop the ability to adapt flexibly to change.

Please keep the following overview in mind for each session, as it will deepen your understanding.

    Session 1: Explain the overview of the financial literacy needed for the next generation and the purpose of learning, while motivating students.
    Session 2: Identify desired life events, calculate the money needed for their realization, and learn about planned savings.
    Session 3: Learn the basics of loans and loan circumstances to develop the ability to make sound judgments when creating a financial plan for achieving life events.
    Session 4: Study case examples of troubles related to contracts, cards, the internet, and investments.
    Session 5: Learn about the structure of public pensions and the necessity of self-preparation for retirement.
    Session 6: Understand the necessity of private insurance based on an understanding of public insurance.
    Session 7: Learn the differences between savings and investments, the characteristics of various financial products, and acquire basic knowledge of asset management.
    Session 8: Gain knowledge of risk management necessary for practicing asset management.
    Session 9: Learn about "regional revitalization initiatives" and the relationship between "regions" and "regional financial institutions."
    Session 10: Understand the impact of improved financial literacy on personal career plans.
    Session 11: Learn about the financial product "leasing" and its relationship with decarbonization and the circular economy.
    Session 12:  Study the background of cashless promotion and consider the advantages and disadvantages of cashless payments.
    Session 13: Review previous sessions and learn the basic knowledge and points to become a smart consumer.
    Session 14: Understand the mechanisms of the economy, including basic economic indicators and the effects of yen depreciation and appreciation.
    Session 15: Present your life plan, career plan, and financial plan within your group. 
Requirements You must bring your own PC to every class.
This class is basically held at Kasumi Campus, but face-to-face classes will be held at Higashi-hiroshima Campus on 4/25 (Fri.) and 5/16 (Fri.) only. (“Introduction to University Education” required for first-year students of the School of Law, Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences (offered on 1T Fri. from 1-4 period) will be held face-to-face at the Higashi-hiroshima Campus on 4/25 (Fri.) and 5/16 (Fri.) only, so this class will be held on the same afternoon at the Higashi-hiroshima Campus). 
Grading Method Mini-tests given in each lesson (15%), Attitude in class (15%), Submission of Life Plan (30%), Presentation (10%), Taking the financial literacy test (30%)
