/Class Outline
Course Description:
This course serves as the final clinical practicum in the undergraduate program, designed to help students integrate nursing knowledge and practice before transitioning to real clinical settings. Through this practicum, students will develop an understanding of clinical practice from a management perspective and gain experience in managing multiple patients and tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the course aims to enhance students' comprehension of the patient care continuum and the transition of care from acute settings to home-based care.

Objectives:
During this clinical practicum, students will -
Observe and learn from nurse managers, including Unit Managers (Head Nurses) and team leaders, to understand the fundamentals of nursing management. 
Class Schedule The details are outlined in the student course guidebook.
Practice Sites: Hiroshima University Hospital or a home-visiting nursing station. Each student may select one of these options.
Practice Method: Students will follow to the designated practice guidelines.
Clinical Conference: Instructors and clinical preceptors will review your progress daily.
The initial conference will take place in the middle of the first week, while the final case conference will be held on the last day of the course.
Students will adhere to their designated specialty area and follow the instructions outlined in the student course guidebook.
Duration of Clinical Practice: 10 days over a span of 2 weeks.

Clinical Journals and Conferences

1. Clinical Journals
Students have the flexibility to choose their preferred format for clinical journals, whether handwritten or typed, and the style that best supports their learning process. The journal should include the following content:

Daily reflections: documenting accomplishments, practice experiences, thoughts, and reflections.
A summary of the subjects studied, such as disease pathology, treatment, nursing care, and other relevant topics.

2. Conference
Daily discussions with instructors and clinical preceptors to monitor progress.
An evaluation conference will be held on the final day of the practicum period.

All textbooks and reference materials related to the clinical practicum, including those on medicine and nursing care, should be utilized during the course to support students' learning and practical experience.

These resources are listed in the student clinical practice guidebook for reference and use throughout the practicum. 
Requirements Attendance: Students are required to attend at least 4 out of the 5 total days.
Students completing the practical training in Japanese will receive instruction in Japanese, while those doing it in English will be taught in English. However, since the majority of supervisors and clinical staff speak Japanese and the clinical site operates in Japanese, it is recommended that students have a basic understanding of the Japanese language. 
Grading Method Evaluation will be based on performance criteria provided before the practicum. The evaluation criteria are outlined in the student course guidebook.
