This lecture provides an opportunity for students to learn about independence, which is an important aspect of university education, and to gain an experiential understanding of the fun and enjoyment of academics. The Liberal Arts Seminar provides an opportunity to nurture intellectual interest by actively involving new students in learning activities, and also promotes communication between students, faculty members, and each other to help students form good study habits. 
Expected OutcomeThe following learning outcomes are expected in conjunction with the basic university education course “Introduction to University Education”.
1. Understanding of how to learn at university and formation of an independent learning attitude
2. Development of problem-finding skills
3. Acquisition of methods to collect information such as literature materials
4. Mastery of theoretical and critical thinking methods
5. Acquisition and improvement of reading comprehension, expression, presentation, and discussion skills
6. Understanding of social rules for university life
