Class Objectives
/Class Outline
The aim of this course is to gain understating and consider issues regarding regional Japanese language education. Given an increasing number of foreigners and persons with foreign roots are living in Japanese society, what is expected for regional Japanese language education? Students will learn about providers and collaboration, and real cases of regional Japanese language education, and will become able to establish their own education plans.
* Participation to community-based Japanese class is mandatory

2. Laws and systems of immigration and visa in Japan
3. Practice in regional Japanese language education (In city A nearby the university)
4. Discussion based on lesson 3
5. Foreigners/persons with foreign roots as persons living in Japanese society
6. Foreigners/persons with foreign roots as persons living in Japanese society and Japanese education
7. Easy Japanese ("Yasashi Nihongo")
8. Easy Japanese ("Yasashi Nihongo") competition
9. Practice in regional Japanese language education (In city B nearby the university)

Theme of the next class will be announced in every lesson. Review relevant literature and information prior to the class. After the class and discussion, organize your thoughts about regional Japanese language education. 
Requirements Students must participate community-based Japanese class (at least once) and turn in report to earn credit (mandatory). Orientation and scheduling will be held at the first lecture. All students must attend to the first lecture.

Individual accommodation upon absence or delayed participation (lecture and community-based Japanese class) will be considered ONLY when students notified the lecture PRIOR to the class via e-mail.
