Investigating Old English, Middle English, and Modern English, we would like to see the background of Present-day English.

2. Old English: its establishment
3. Old English: letters, morphology, syntax and vocabulary
4. Scandinavian influence
5. Norman influence: regional dialects and French
6. Norman influence: standard English and bollowings
7. Middle English: spelling and word form
8. Middle English: grammar & Early Modern English: Latin influence
9. Early Modern English: borrowings and word formation
10. Early Modern English: syntax
11. Early Modern English: great vowel shift
12. Early Modern English: auxiliaries, pronunciation and regional variation
13. Late Modern English: spelling and standardization
14. Late Modern English: standardization and verb system
15. Late Modern English: vocabulary and status
