This course reconstructs the philosophy of Peter Frederick Strawson (1919–2006), one of the most prominent British philosophers of the 20th century, using the concept of "descriptive metaphysics" as a key framework. Each session will examine Strawson’s major works, with the ultimate goal of situating his monumental paper, "Freedom and Resentment", within the broader context of his philosophical thought.

Strawson's philosophy is difficult to understand, but we wish the participants good luck. 
Requirements Students who are absent from lectures more than five times will not be assessed.
