Natural disasters occur as a result of complex interactions in the Earth system. In order to understand the mechanisms of natural disasters, it is essential to understand the Earth. In this course, basic characteristics and history of the Earth will be explained to better understand the mechanisms of natural disasters.

5. Evolution of the crust and mantle
6. Tectonic evolution of Asia including Japan
