Class Objectives
/Class Outline
All materials in the world grow as crystals after stable nuclei are formed through nucleation processes. Therefore, knowledge of the growth process is necessary for the fabrication of substances. In this class, crystal growth phenomena will be studied. Basic concepts of crystal growth phenomena will be introduced, and nucleation and epitaxial growth will be explained with examples of recent research.
Class Schedule lesson1: Basics of thermodynamics and statistical physics
lesson2: Phase diagram and crystallization
lesson3: Equilibrium and growth forms of crystals
lesson4: Nucleation
