/Class Outline
Serving as basic orientation for students' university education, the aim of the seminar is to stimulate students' intellectual curiosity, foster active, heuristic, explorative learning, and lay the foundations for integrated arts and sciences. To this end, students will learn fundamental research skills and the methods of scientific thought. Students will also undertake "mini research projects" through group-work, enabling them to practice the basic skills they have learned in actual research.

Lesson 1: Let's think about how to deal with problems when they actually arise.
Lesson 2: Let's review how to obtain and organize information, and what points we should be careful about.
Lesson 3: Let's list the topics that came up in the group activities at the new student welcome orientation.
Lesson 4: Let's talk with friends and seniors about what points interested you, and what you want to study at university.
Lesson 5: Find out what you were interested in when you looked at the exhibits.
Lesson 6: Find out what you were interested in when you observed nature and historical sites.
Lesson 7: While keeping in mind the things you need to be careful of when making a presentation, actually make a presentation.
Lesson 8: Think about the issues that are currently being discussed in society.
Lesson 9: While keeping in mind the connection between your sub-theme and the overall theme, make a presentation that is easy to understand.
Lesson 10: Create a presentation that is easy to understand, while keeping in mind the connection between the sub-theme you are in charge of and the overall theme.
Lesson 11: Share the content of the sub-theme you have researched with the other presenters, think about the connection to the overall theme, and put together a presentation that is easy to understand.
Lesson 12: Hold a discussion on the presentations and think deeply about the themes that have been raised.
Lesson 13: Discuss the presentations and think deeply about the themes raised. Also, think deeply about the themes raised and write a report.

Requirements  
Grading Method There will be comprehensive evaluation based on the student's effort in each lesson and group-work, the contribution made to the presentation session, and the quality of the individual reports.
