Class Objectives
/Class Outline
You will be sent to a relevant overseas research laboratory to develop into an international leader in the field of natural science who can pursue advanced interdisciplinary research. Through collaborative research with your colleagues at the laboratory and through various opportunities such as discussions with your instructor and other students, and oral presentations at seminars, you will improve your English communication skills required for research activities in your area of specialty in the field of natural science and deepen your understanding of the importance of international networks to pursue your own research from a broad perspective.
Class Schedule 1. After consulting with your main academic adviser, you will give a presentation at an international academic conference, conduct joint international research, etc. You are expected to spend a minimum of 30 hours on course activities. However, such activities should not interfere with other important activities, such as attendance at formal courses.
2. After completing your course activities, you will submit to your main academic adviser a credit recognition application, a report stating required information, including a schedule for an academic conference (or other event), the name of the host organization, and the content of your activities and reference materials such as a summary of the conference.
3. You will give a presentation on your activities in English at a presentation session for your degree program.
4. You will be evaluated in terms of various factors, including the content of your presentation at a presentation session, the content of your discussions, goal achievement levels in academic activities and research, and the actual results of your course activities. Credit recognition depends on the evaluation results.
