In order to be able to create a sustainable society, strengthening intellectual ground and fostering a bird’s –eye view on current and future environmental phenomena with understanding the essence of environmental problems are focused.  
Class Schedule Lesson 1:What is Environment?
Lesson 2:Environmental problems and issues  
Lesson 3:Environmental structure as a system and its elements
Lesson 4:Human Activities on Environmental problems
Lesson 5:Conservation of ecosystems
Lesson 6:Social institutions and Economic systems
Lesson 7:Technological development and limits
Lesson 8:Final Examination

Reports are assigned.

Since a wide range of knowledge is required to understand environmental problems and issues, preparation and review are required.  
Requirements Basic knowledge on environment in the undergraduate level is required. Active discussion in class is expected. 
Grading Method Final examination 60% and Reports 40%.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it On the basis of a variety of experience in Japanese government as well as foreign countries, the essence of environment is discussed in class.
