The objectives of this course are to
(1) Understand the nature and origin of minerals and rocks and how to evaluate those properties. [Yokoyama]
(2) Understand how the water-rock reaction and mass transport proceed and how those processes are quantitatively evaluated by numerical calculations. [Yokoyama]
(3) Understand geology and biogeochemical processes in aquifers. [Saito]
(4) Understand material transport and sediment formation in coastal zones, and environmental problems in coastal subsurface zones. [Saito]
