Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Around us there are various wave motion phenomena, for example, vibration of the strings, sound waves and electric oscillation of the electric circuits, and so on. If we pay attention only to small motions in those phenomena, those can be regarded as phenomena with linear structure. In that case, the same type of differential equations appear. We can say that it express the properties common to those phenomena. At this lecture, paying attention to some linear wave motion phenomena, and carrying out review about the basic points of mathematics such as some ordinary differential equations and Fourier analysis, we learn about applications to the partial differential equations. |
