Discussion, research, and presentation of your own astronomical project, in particular on optical, infrared, and radio observations. The main targets will be galaxies. Programming skills such as Python will be trained. There are many occasions where discussions and presentations in English are needed because most  projects are parts of international collaborations.

The goal of this program is to assist you become an independent astronomical researcher or a critical thinker who is able to plan and carry out a scientific project, as well as discuss and present results.  
Class Schedule Through this program, you will understand related studies in the academic literature, plan a new project for yourself, work on data analysis, discuss results with your supervisor and her colleagues. Your research project will have to be published as your dissertation and a dissertation talk is expected.

(More Details) A laptop which can be used for data analysis and writing is required. Zoom may be needed too for teleconferences with the instructor or international collaborators.
