The improvement of the overall ability responsible to the globalization such as, the concept of physical science, the process of scientific researches, and language skills, is evaluated.

Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Research activities abroad for master's or doctoral degrees in physical science is evaluated. The activities include joint researches, use of facilities, and study in a summer school. The report and report  meeting on the research achievement is required for the course assessment and grading.   The improvement of the skills described in the aims of this course is evaluated.

○ Available for students studying or having research activities oversees.
○ The number of days for research abroad only includes weekdays abroad, and excludes traveling days.
○ Assessment :
    ・The number of days for research abroad can be accumulated in a year.
    ・The minimum period for research abroad is 5 days. The shorter cannot be accumulated.
    ・One credit will be given per 20 days for research abroad.
    ・The maximum credits per one year is 2 credits.

Course students must follow the following instruction and notes.
○ Letter of acceptance from supervisor abroad is required.
○ Submit the record of the date and time on the travel abroad at the departure and return.
○ Submit the report of the achievement within 10 days after the return on the last research activity for the credit. After the acceptance of the report, the report meeting and interview with the lecturer will be scheduled. The language used in the meeting is English.(Presentation: 35 min, question and discussion : 10 min) The meeting is publicly opened.
○ Consult the lecturer in advance, if you cannot report publicly open at the meeting due to the intellectual property in the study.
○ Research location where your research is done must be identical. If the location changes, the number of days for research abroad must be counted and accumulated individually.  The report and meeting are required for each research location. In any case the maximum credits per one year is 8 credits.
○ Advisor adjusts and contacts with the supervisor abroad.
○ The lecturer in charge registers the grading.

【Plan of this course】
Students to do research abroad should consult with your supervisor and prepare the plan for the research abroad taking into account the registration of other course subjects and the total course credit. The applicant must register the course and submit the application form (provided) to the director of physical science.
