Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course examines what is democracy in its principles and diversities by comparing two major Asian democracies, Japan and India.  Particular attentions will be given to the ways to conduct elections, roles and functions of political parties, federal system or unitary system, and majority-minority relations.  Globalism, populism and deterioration of democracy will be discussed toward the end of the course.
