1) We will discuss example cases (uploaded on TKC beforehand, or given in a class).
2) In classes, students will deliver presentations on their ideas, and have discussion with other classmates who have different ideas. By having discussions, students will improve abilities to develop discussions and confirm ethics of legal professions.

【Outline of the course】
1) In classes concerning Civil field (delivered by Noda), we will learn legal ethics related to Civil Code, Commercial law, and Code of Civil Procedure, focusing on lawyers' autonomy, delegation agreements, conflict of interest, confidentiality and relationship with the other party and between the court.
2) In classes concerning General and Penal field (delivered by Tanoue), we will learn basic concepts of legal professions by changing ideas and discussion. We will pick up example cases which legal professions may face difficulties in judgment.  We will also discuss ethics of prosecutors.
【Aims】
1) To understand ethics of legal professions in order to operate sound legal system.
2) To understand significance of lawyers' autonomy and explain it.
3) To develop concepts of legal professions, which is self-reliant and is thought with one's own responsibility.

Grading Method Final exam: (Complete Texts of the Six Codes and Basic Duties of Attorney are allowed to bring in) 80 %. Class attendance 20 % (Remarks in classes)
